Members of all seven faculties will also be in attendance to answer questions about attending the University of Toronto and Canada in general. However, lack of financing forces students to give up on their dreams every year. Founded by IITians with 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry, GyanDhan aims to equalize and expand access to higher education. In the past 12 months, we have helped ~200 students get over 50crores in loans to pursue their dreams of higher education. GyanDhan works with banks to provide the best offer to the customer and provides industry leading customer service. It was great getting to know each other and realizing that we are having similar experiences (struggles?) at home. Based on feedback, the first book for next year will be The Big Disconnect: Protecting Childhood and Family Relationships in the Digital Age by Catherine Steiner-Adair and Teresa Barker. Any OIS parent is invited to read the book over the summer (available on Kindle) and join us in late September (date to be determined once we get back from summer) for a low-key discussion. The British Universities & Secondary Schools Achievement Tests (BUSSATs) measure the academic competency of pupils and students seeking entry to a UK school or university. The BUSSATs act a tool for students to know their academic level compared to other students as well as help position and place them at a school with the correct PSAPI score for them. BUSSATs are designed to measure students’ ability in English (comprehension & grammar), Maths (at basic, advanced and super-advanced levels) and General Knowledge (history, geography, science, current affairs and sport). The tests, which offer over 250 multi-choice questions, are delivered over two-hours using a computer-based technology platform provided by PEARSON VUE. The cost is 5000 rupees. The test center will be in Mumbai; if enough students are interested, we can look into holding them here at OIS. Test date will be late May.
