3 Way Conferences
May 18 - May 22 (Sent to Parents on May 07) The 3-Way Conference structure will not be new to you, however the format of an online 3-Way Conference naturally differs from what we have done before in the primary division at OIS. This time the conference will focus on ‘the process of learning’ as we recognise the vital role you as parents have played in ensuring an environment conducive to learning has been fostered from home. What is the purpose of this 3-Way Conference? The sharing sessions at 3-Way Conferences provide a picture of each student’s progress and development over a period of time. With the focus on learning, this will provide an opportunity to gain three perspectives on the process of learning from the student, the parents, and the teacher. Who do 3-Way Conferences involve? The child, the child’s homeroom teacher, the child's parent(s) and the English as an Additional Language (EAL) or learning support teacher, where appropriate. On this occasion it is not possible to share learning in physical education, world languages, music and art in a meaningful way. There was an opportunity for this to happen at the Single Subject conferences earlier in the year. How is the 3-Way Conference organised? The conferences take place during the week May 18-22. (The exception to this is Grade 5; May 18 - 21 due to the Grade 5/Grade 6 transition day on May 22.) A twenty minute appointment can be booked online from May 11, with bookings closing on May 14. Your appointment and a link to the conference meeting will be confirmed by email from your child’s HRT on Friday May 15. Anything else? A 3-Way Conference framework template will be sent to you to help you to prepare for the conference. A modified ‘End Of Year Report’ reflecting this semester’s learning will be available on June 04, 2020. In Summary: May 11 Booking schedule will be open May 14 Booking schedule will be locked May 15 Conference Framework template will be sent to you May 15 Confirmation of your appointment will be sent to you May 18... 3-Way Conferences will commence Tony Batchelor Head of Primary (OGC Campus) Oberoi International School "Give a child their learning, and they'll learn for a day.
