Never believe that a few caring people can't change the world. For, indeed, that's all who ever have - Margaret Mead
11 hard working, passionate kids was what it took to plan the Primary Walkathon that took place on Tuesday, Valentine's Day and what an appropriate day to celebrate our love for animals.
The Animal Action ECA organised this fundraiser to support the efforts of a local animal shelter that wants to buy an animal ambulance. The turnout was amazing and so was the atmosphere. the general feeling after the event was 'we should do this more often'!
We raised a total amount of Rs16,261 and money is still coming in!
A huge thank you to the primary administration for supporting and promoting this initiative, the PMS dept. and all the students and teachers who participated.
Dear Parents of our Grade 4 students
I am sure you are aware that in Grade 5 the school has a ‘bring your own Mac’ policy. At OIS we recognize the need for students to use mobile devices to support teaching and learning and for students to utilize their own technology in a more seamless way in the classroom. The use of technology to support learning in education is an area we at OIS believe enhances and supports learning, thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration across learning experiences. Our Grade 5 students are expected to bring their Macbooks to school everyday.
In preparation for the Grade 5 year the school will run a workshop for Grade 4 parents around how we use Macbooks to support the teaching and learning programmes. The workshop is scheduled for March 01, 2017 at 08:15, and will be held in the 4th floor teacher’s lounge.
