From the Head of Primary
Today sees the finish of our first cycle of ‘touch base meets’ between parents and teachers. Thank you for the interactions you have had, as these provide further insights into the children we are working with in our class learning programmes. Some parents in these calls talked about the schedule and how this is working or not working for that matter, for their children. Attached you will find a link to provide feedback on how you have found the first few weeks; this feedback will be important to us as we reflect on the first 3 weeks of this academic year. I hope that you have managed to access the ‘Primary Handbook for Parents’, this is your go to for information during the time we are online. This document is a live document with any changes made communicated to you here on the ‘Pedagogical Leadership Team’s blog’. Tony Batchelor Head of Primary

Dear Parents,
Now that we have completed our first few weeks back to school, we want to share with you again some suggestions and tips for working and learning from home. Our Technology Integrators, Mr. Sidney and Mr. Pradeesh have developed these infographics to help you and your child continue to develop healthy habits while we are at home using our devices. Kind regards, Pedagogical Leadership Team
Dear Parents,
Please see the attached Primary School Handbook for your reference. This version of the handbook is relevant for our current Learning from Home programme and as the situation changes, we will update this handbook. This is very much a working document, but any changes that need to be made will be communicated to you. Kind regards, Pedagogical Leadership Team ![]()
Dear Parents, Our primary teachers have commented on how smoothly this year’s start to the academic year has been. I wanted to thank you for supporting your children through this first week back to school and for helping them to orientate themselves back into the online learning environment. Our home and school partnership is so important for our children's learning success and we have started this year well, together. I have enjoyed visiting classes this week and can report that the first units are underway, single subject teachers have begun their first units and we have welcomed and enjoyed meeting the 133 new children to our student cohort. Watch out for information coming your way soon: The ‘Introduction to the PYP for New Families’ on August 31, The Parent Handbook - the online version - a link for you to access this will be available soon. I hope that all of the teething issues with access to Managebac and to Seesaw have now been resolved. If you continue to have issues accessing these two platforms please inform the primary secretaries - primary.secretary@oberoi-is.org Have a great weekend. Tony Attached are the presentations from the New and Returning Parent Sessions. August 2nd, 2021![]()
