Oh What A Week!

​Since my last post we have had a very interesting time in the primary division.
In the last 7 school days we have had one holiday, one scheduled half day, one unscheduled half day due to flooding, one ‘rain’ day, one teacher professional learning day and again this week another holiday. In this short amount of time we have:

• held a meeting for new parents to the school on understanding the PYP 
• had an interactive workshop with Grade 5 parents looking at the way we use the ipad to support our learning and parents visited classroom to work with their children
• teachers spent one whole day in workshops to further their understanding of teacher inquiry in action, reading, curriculum planning, grouping and re-grouping for learning
• 24 of our teachers attended a PYP workshop over the weekend held here at OIS.

​We have managed to pack a lot into a short amount of time.

3 Way Conferences
You will be aware from the academic calendar that on September 20 we have our student, teacher, parent conferencing. By now you will have received a  message on how to make a booking for this day for you and your child to meet with the point of contact homeroom teacher. The message sent to you is copied below:
 
Message from Head of Primary (1 Attachment) (Nursery-Grade 5)
On Friday, September 20, we will have the 3 way conferences at the school. Attached is the communication regarding the upcoming 3-Way Conferences from the Head of Primary.
To book a time, please find a module on the School Mobile App called slot booking.  This module will be active from today, 5:00 p.m. The sign up will close on Thursday, September 19 at noon.

OIS App New Release:  Update for Slot Booking Feature (Nursery - Grade 5)
With the PTMs and 3 Way conferences  just around the corner, we are happy to introduce the new Slot Booking feature on our OIS app. This feature will help parents book a slot for the upcoming PTMs and 3 Way conferences in a few seconds, all you have to do is choose an available slot and book an appointment. You can also go back and cancel the booking in case you have a change of plans. The slot bookings will open today, September 9, 2019, 5:00 p.m. onward and the sign ups will close on Thursday, September 19 at noon. To access this feature, we request all parents to update the app and if you haven't downloaded the app do so now. If you have any issues, please contact mobileapp_support@oberoi-is.org
