Celebrating Reading and Writing

Dear Parents, Friends and Family members,

One of my most favourite jobs as a Head of Primary is visiting classes and spending time learning about the children and with the children.  These past few weeks have been a focus on Early Literacy developments and to explore with teachers and students what tools do we need to help us learn how to read and write.
SKG students have such grit and determination, it is the most exciting time in a young readers life when they are just beginning to read and finding the balance between decoding and a whole language approach.  This learning can only happen through the endless support of home and school, so parents - keep reading to your child at home and teachers - a big thank you for all your endless planning and support from the early years teachers.
