Reading at OIS

Your child may come home this week and tell you they had a visitor to their class.  This week we have had the pleasure and expertise of Vincent Ventura, a literacy specialist.  He has spent 2 days in classes with students, showing how different elements of reading and writing can be taught and learnt in a range of classes.  Part of school goal is examining the taught curriculum and to consider different approaches of how students learn.  This week has been very fruitful for teachers and students alike and we hope it motivates readers to read and writers to write.
