Visual Arts - Jewellery DesignExploring new avenues with an open-minded attitude to expand one’s own knowledge is the key to learning Visual Arts in Secondary at OIS. Staying true to this, Visual Arts students had an opportunity to work with Jewellery Designer Ms. Mohita Suvanam to learn the basics of Jewellery Design during an ‘internal field trip’. (From Ms. Aparna Mugwe) Teachers (& Students!) Teaching TeachersLast Friday we saw our teachers engaging in a fruitful day of professional development. Teachers Teaching Teachers involved a large number of teachers organising workshops on a wide variety of aspects, using a range or teaching approaches, helping other teachers from Primary, Secondary and Early Years to gain knowledge and understanding of relevant educational topics.
Workshops ranged from 'Green Screen Technology in the Classroom' to 'Modern Day Library Resources'. There were also introductory sessions to Bujinkan, the Japanese martial art and 'French Language for Beginners' which was actually led by a group of students who did an amazing job! Overall the feeling of camaraderie and learning between the teachers was fantastic and lots of new ideas were shared, which OIS students will begin benefiting from immediately.
