Lifelong learning is a living philosophy at OIS. In their departmental meeting this week, our Math teachers were given the challenge of constructing a tower using a limited supply of dried spaghetti and a limited number of marshmallows.
This is a classic team-work dependent exercise which brought the members of the department together in order to further their understanding and appreciation of the importance of communication within the learning of their students. We are constantly looking for, and finding, new ways to invigorate and challenge our teachers, so that they are constantly learning and developing their own skills. This is not only fantastic for what they are able to facilitate in each of their classes, but it also models good learning behaviour and attitude for OIS students.
